Fortron has launched a new range of power supply, the HEXAs. These entry-level power supplies offer an interesting spec given their price, as the 400 watt version is on sale at €29.99 and the 500 watt at €39.99.
At this price, the Fortron HEXAs offer a yield announced as higher than 80% and meet the 80 PLUS standard, though they aren’t certified as they only run at 230V. It may well be that the 80% yield, which is easier to obtain at 230V, isn’t achieved at 115V. 70% of the total power is announced as available for +12V.
The Fortron HEXAs are cooled by a 120mm PWM fan. The 400W version has an ATX 20+4 connector, a 4-pin CPU connector, a 6-pin PCI-E, 3 SATAs, 3 molexes and a floppy. On the 500W version, the CPU connector is 4+4 pins, there are two 6+2 pin PCI-Es, 4 SATAs and 4 molexes in addition to the ATX 20+4 and a floppy. |
