     AM3+ compatibility: MSI too

    Following Asus, it’s over to MSI to publish a list of its AM3 motherboards that are compatible with forthcoming AMD AM3+ processors. Asus surprised us all when publishing their list as it had been stated that AM3+ processors wouldn’t be compatible with AM3 cards, as the sockets are seemingly incompatible (an additional pin as we demonstrated here). MSI has also confirmed that compatible BIOS’ will be included for some of its cards:


    The list published by MSI includes fourteen models. Note that while a good few chipsets have been included, as with Asus 890X motherboards are not. MSI says that the list will be updated as time goes by and other models can be added.
