3D Mark Vantage Basic now free Posted on 15/03/2011 at 13:28 by Guillaume
After the somewhat controversial release of 3D Mark 11, Futuremark is now offering an update of the previous version of its benchmark. 3D Mark Vantage 1.1.0 deactivates PhysX, which was, to recap, activated by default for processor tests. The most important innovation is that the ‘Basic’ version is now free. This isn’t a surprise as the ‘Basic’ mode of 3D Mark was free already. To recap, this mode allows an unlimited launch (!) in a single preconfigured mode (1280 x 1024 without anti-aliasing or anistropic filtering).
Although not yet official on the Futuremark site, version 1.1.0 is already available on various miror sites.
