While the Catalyst 11.3s should be launched next week, AMD has just made available an ‘Early Preview’ of the Catalyst 11.4s. These are drivers that the manufacturer had supplied to the press for the Radeon HD 6990 tests.
Among other things, the drivers correct problems owners of Radeon HD 5800s have had in Dragon Age 2. But AMD has also taken the opportunity to introduce certain innovations in its CCC, such as new panels for piloting Eyefinity (multi-screen). The CCC has also been developed to offer automatic search for updates. The feature is deactivated for now, but eventually AMD is hoping to help novices to update their drivers more regularly. The manufacturer is promising that the automatic search will only take place every couple of weeks and that it will be possible for advanced users to deactivate the feature.
