You can rely on AMD to keep to the programme and they announced the Catalyst 10.3s last night. These drivers bring their quota of innovations.
As expected, the Radeon Mobilities for notebooks are now supported, with the exception of Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba computers. Compatibility extends from the Radeon Mobility 2000s to the recent Mobility 5000s, running across a large section of machines on the market. To this is added an improvement to EyeFinity with the possibility of being able to set colours for each screen individually from the driver and to manage the screens in different groups. Note that you can adjust the final image to compensate for the borders of screens placed beside each other. AMD has also updated its driver so as to facilitate support for stereoscopic 3D at 120 Hz by third party suppliers such as DDD and iZ3D.
To that is added the now standard performance gains, kicking in for both the Radeon 5000s and the Radeon 4800s, which will be appreciated by the owners of these cards. Performance for these cards should be improved in Alien vs. Predator, Battleforge, Call Of Duty: World at War, Company of Heroes, Crysis and Crysis Warhead, Devil May Cry 4, DiRT 2, Ennemy Territory: Quake Wars, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Resident Evil 5, H.A.W.X., World in Conflict and Wolfenstein.
