CES: Micron’s C300 SATA 6 Gbps SSD Posted on 11/01/2010 at 05:12 by Damien
Gigabyte was using the Micron RealSSD C300 in its suite to leverage SATA 6 Gb/s. Based on the Marvell controller (the first to natively support this standard) it has theoretical reads of 355 MB/s and writes of 215 MB/s. While these writes were achieved in Gigabyte’s tests, this wasn’t the case for the reads that were much lower than announced. This is especially stange as the X58 motherboard used means the SATA 6 Gbps controller can connect directly to the chipset with PCI Express 2.0.
