OCZ is preparing a new range of SSDs named Vertex Turbo. These drives will be available in 30, 60, 120 and 250 GB versions. There isn’t a great difference with the Vertex range (tested here) as the Turbos will also have the Barefoot d'Indilinx controller, but OCZ says that the Turbos will benefit from “specially selected” memory chips so as to give maximum performance.
Still according to the manufacturer, the Vertex Turbos will have max read speeds of 278 MB/s and max writes of 213 MB/s, or 10 to 15% more than theoretical speeds for the Vertex range. Remember, in our test the Vertex 120 GB already reached reads of 218 MB/s and writes of 130 MB/s when copying large files. Prices have not yet been given officially but OCZ has said they should be around 10% up on the non-Turbo Vertex range.
