 Quadro FX 4500 : 24 pipelines at 550 MHz
  Posted on 1122647121 by Damien

Contrary to what we said in yesterday’s news, the Quadro FX 4500 features in fact 24 pixel pipelines shaders and not 20. The number of vertex shader is 8 as they are all activated.

The vertex shader and other component frequencies, respectively 470 MHz and 550 MHz, are correct. So compared to the Quadro FX 4400, pixels and geometry calculation power are increased by 100% and 50 % instead of 65 and 33%.

Compared to a GeForce 7800 GTX the vertex shader calculation power is identical. The Quadro has however 30% more calculation power for pixels shaders.

 The first 9 megapixels

Current highest sensors for general public digital cameras were 8 megapixels, but today Fujifilm released two new cameras based on 9 megapixels sensors.

The S9500 Zoom features a 28-300 mm zoom (10.7x). The camera sensitivity goes up to 1600 ISO and it is introduced as ultra fast: 0.8s to switch on and 0.01s shutter lag. The camera vary-angle LCD monitor is 1.8” wide (4.6 cm). The S9000 dimensions are 128 x 93 x 129 mm and it weights 645 g.

More compact, and probably also less expensive the E900 Zoom “only” features a 4x, 32 – 128 mm zoom. Picture resolution is like the S9000, 3848 x 2616 pixels but it is lighter and less bulky: 102 x 63 x 34 mm for 202 g.

More information on these two cameras on Fujifilm’s website.
