After mentioning in at IDF, Intel has included the Kentsfield in the roadmaps for the first quarter 2007. The first quad core for desktop computers will in fact be made of two Conroe 65nm cores that will be placed on the same packaging.

 Severe shortages of ULi southbridge?
  Posted on 1143542605 by Marc

According to DigiTimes, NVIDIA would be accelerating the termination of sales of ULi Electronics chipsets and especially Southbridge that are used in combination with ATI's Northbridge.

The M1575 and 1573 would be in severe shortages, but ATI's inventory would be of 100,000 chips mainly intended to « first tier » manufacturers (ASUS, ECS, Gigabyte, MSI).

If this information, that follow ULi's acquisition by NVIDIA at the end of 2005, it isn't surprising, we have to hope that ATI wont be too much delayed in the finalisation of the SB600 Southbridge that was initially expected in May.
