The latest Codemaster title, F1 2010 uses the same engine as DiRT 2 and supports DirectX 11 via patch 1.1 that we installed of course. As this patch was developped in collaboration with AMD, NVIDIA told us that they had only received it late in the day and haven’t yet had the opportunity to optimise its drivers for the game in the DirectX 11 version.
We pushed all the graphics options to a max and we used the game’s own test tool on the Spa-Rancorchamps circuit with a single F1.
In F1 2010, the Radeons are particularly at ease. Note that triple CrossFire X doesn’t bring any gain here.
For us, F1 2010 is the game in which surround gaming adds most to the experience, notably improving immersion and giving more of a sense of speed.
Although triple CrossFire X still doesn’t bring any gain in this game, all the Radeon 2 GB bi-GPU solutions allow you to play F1 2010 with antialiasing and in surround gaming mode. Things aren’t quite as good for the GeForce GTX 580 in SLI but it nevertheless runs with good fluidity. With the GeForce GTX 570s in SLI, you have to forget antialiasing however.
