Naturally Blu-ray playback draws more power, with consumption starting at 9.9 watts for the Radeon HD 4350 and 5450 GDDR3 and 89.9 watts for the GeForce 9800 GX2. Just one card draws less power than in 2D, the 4870 1 GB from Gigabyte that uses 62.2W in 2D and 48.3W here! This is down to the fact that the clocks aren’t correctly fixed in 2D.

Here again note the efforts made by ATI with its Radeon HD 5000 series, which in spite of their performance levels remain quite economical here, in contrast to the previous generation (with the exception of the HD 4850 1 GB from Sapphire which is surprising).
