While individual app results are important, we’ve calculated a performance index based on all tests with the same weight for each test. An index of 100 was set to the Intel Core 2 Q8200.
On average, the new 32nm Core i3s and i5s do as well as the older entry level quad cores in the Intel range. As these are dual core processors, that’s quite a feat! The Core i3-530 is on a par with the Core 2 Q8200, which is itself on a par with the Phenom II X4 620. The Core i5-661 is something below the Q9450 and the Phenom II X4 940.
