ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT

F.E.A.R.
We use the integrated demo. Unfortunately, this only gives a whole number score, which can lead to a difference of one unit under the same conditions, because of a normal variation of two tenths. For each card, we selected the best of three results.

All graphic options are pushed to the maximum except for soft shadows, which were deactivated. 16x anisotropic filtering is activated in the game.

Although ATI is usually very competitive with antialiasing in F.E.A.R., it isn’t the case here. There is a problem affecting the Radeon HD2900 XT’s performances once ant aliasing is activated.
Serious Sam 2
Here we also recorded a demo and activated anisotropic filtering 16x in the game as well as HDR.

Strongly limited by filtering power, it’s only normal that Serious Sam 2 offer a net advantage to the GeForce 8.

With antialiasing and for some unknown reason, the new AMD driver performs very well in Serious Sam 2 thanks to an almost negligible cost of Adaptive AntiAliasing.
