Belinea 1980 S1

Belinea has a very simple message with this screen. It will be the same as the previous 10 19 20, a monitor that we
very much liked last year. It did well on the market after this test and got several awards from our colleagues in the paper press. So, we understand why the German manufacturer tried to simplify the sales pitch to a maximum and minimise modifications. According to them, only the name would change, but we did find a couple of differences. The good thing is that these are improvements on a much less obvious level.

To really ensure the 10 19 20 line, Belinea has once again implemented a P-MVA 8 ms panel manufactured by AU Optronics. Reaction time, multi-use, wide viewing angles, the quality of previous version are all there. One year later, the panel is a bit different and electronic components and most of all the LUT (
Look Up Table, for color table) have been reviewed. The standard colors are more accurate. It isn't perfect yet though as we have noted a slight blue dominance in the greys:

The colour shades are a bit more accurate. Nevertheless, you should try to slightly reduce the blue level and reinforce the red to improve color balance.

Finally, the 1980 S1 has one non-negligible advantage over the 1980 S1. We are at least sure that the panel is a MVA 8 ms. This wasn't the case of the previous version, which has successively existed with three different type of panels: TN, PVA, MVA. There is no need to verify the internal reference number to recognise the version and we are now sure to have the "right" panel.
