Mirai DML-519W100

The Mirai monitor has a CMO panel. But we should rather start with, who are CMO and Mirai? CMO is the fourth largest manufacturer of panels behind LG-Philips, Samsung and AU Optronics. Usually, according to our experience, we usually find their components in economical products, a few monitors and a lot of TVs and we have never seen them in monitors for gamers or graphic designers.
Who is Mirai? This company is a subsidiary of CMO. Like the three other major manufacturers, CMO started selling monitors under its own brand, in addition to assembling for generic brands.

This monitor has a wide format 16/10. It could be very handy for movies but it has a strong twinkling effect which is quite disturbing in this use. You should rather consider this monitor for the office. The wide format is particularly nice for tables with multiple columns.
The panel itself is quite modest and new. We measured more afterglow than with the Samsung and AU Optronics TN 8 ms panels. It was built just before manufacturers started to focus on accurate colors in entry level monitors. This is the reason why its color rendering is quite approximate.

The last point is ergonomics. It’s rather basic but justified by the price. The foot is as simple as possible and it barely allows the inclination. The interface is a good surprise as we have the choice between analog and the digital input. Belinea doesn’t offer this possibility with its economical model.
