BenQ FP202W
A little while ago BenQ released the first 20 inch monitor with a TN panel. Many gamers hoped that it would be ideal for them. The only problem is that the response time is only 8ms even if this figure has to be taken with a grain of salt and we are now used to seeing monitors of this type (now in 5/4 and 19"). Panel reaction time is at best comparable to MVA 8 ms monitor. We say “at best”, because the Hyundai L90D+ (TN 8 ms) is a little faster. It’s the opposite for this BenQ as it’s slightly behind the MVA 8 ms. The difference isn´t that great and if you looked at each monitor side by side, you probably wouldn´t notice. In clone however, it is obvious and this is also what our camera saw in from our test scene.

We are also used to TN panels being more subject to twinkling effects than an MVA in movies and this remains unchanged. However, it’s not as strong as with IPS panels like the Nec 20WGX².

Most of all, the advantage of this monitor is its very low price. It’s cheaper than most 19 inches. If you look a little on the Internet, you can find it for approximately 430€ (351$ on Shopbot.ca). Those who want bigger images without spending too much, because they have already have a very expensive graphic card, have a good option here.
