Creative Labs Inspire T5900
The Inspire T5900 is of great interest, because it’s the only one to provide two voice satellites with one tweeter for trebles and one speaker for mediums at a reasonable price. Surround satellites, however, only have one voice. Overall power is quite generous compared to other sets of the same range at 74 watts in total. It comes with a cabled remote to adjust general volume and bass. It is not possible to adjust treble, the central voice or stereo panning. The remote control also has a headphone plug and a mini jack auxiliary input.
The overall appearence is sober and functional without any frills. The subwoofer is rather small like the VS3151R.
The Inspire T5900 is a good surprise in terms of sound quality. We start, however, with a less flattering evaluation of basses, which are still dry like all middle range Creative labs speaker sets. The sound dynamic is around the 100 Hz range and other frequency ranges are duller. This is really unfortunate but doesn’t condemn these speakers to a poor rating as the general volume is more than satisfactory. Treble is clear and precise and doesn’t saturate too quickly. Mediums, the strong area of these satellites, are present and show exemplary strength. Dynamic is excellent and the stereo picture acceptable.
This modest speaker set has a few bonuses in addition to its reasonable price. The Inspire T5900 probably has the best price / quality ratio of this test, and it should really be considered before buying a Logitech Z-530, Hercules XPS 5.101 Black or Logitech VS3151R. Sound quality is better than the more expensive I-Trigue 5600 and the Logitech Z-5300, and it’s a great choice for games and 5.1 sound cards.
