AMD Sempron vs Intel Celeron D

The test

For this test we chose a variety of processors, the Sempron 2800+ and 3100+, of course, but also the Celeron D 335 (2.8 GHz) and Celeron 2.8 GHz. We also chose to compare them to the following:

- AMD Athlon XP 2500+
- AMD Athlon XP 2800+
- AMD Athlon XP 3200+
- AMD Athlon 64 2800+
- AMD Athlon 64 3000+
- AMD Athlon 64 FX-53

And

- Intel Pentium 4 2.4C GHz
- Intel Pentium 4 2.8C GHz
- Intel Pentium 4 3.0C GHz
- Intel Pentium 4 2.8A GHz
- Intel Pentium 4 2.8E GHz
- Intel Pentium 4 3.0E GHz
- Intel Pentium 4 3.4EE GHz

The following motherboards were chosen:

- Socket 478 : ASUSTeK P4C800-E Deluxe (i875P)
- Socket A : ASUSTeK A7N8X-E Deluxe (nForce2 400 Ultra)
- Socket 754 : ASUSTeK K8V (VIA K8T800 Pro)
- Socket 939 : ASUSTeK A8V (VIA K8T800)

The computer configuration was :

- 2x512 MB PC3200 in 2-3-3-8
- ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
- Western Digital WD800JB hard drive
- Windows XP French SP1
